About the Inn
The point is a wild place, and because of our nesting birds and wildlife here, we do not allow pets or children under 12. Our check-in time is 3pm – 5pm, and check-out time is at 11 am.
Amenities
Black Walnut Point Inn consists of the main house built in the 1840’s and three rustic cabins along the Choptank River. We are open year-round, and each guest gets a key to the sanctuary gate. Every accommodation has expansive water views, a separate bath, heat and air conditioning. All guests have access to the main house April-October, including the dining room, living room, sun porch, front and back porches, grounds, pool, and dock. A full breakfast is served May-October, which often includes produce from the orchard and garden. Reminiscent of Grandma’s house, especially if she lived on the Eastern Shore, most guests enjoy keeping a rocking chair or hammock company as they watch the day go by.
The Local Area
Tilghman Island has several restaurants, from fine dining to bistros overlooking the waterways, and St. Michaels is twenty minutes away. Back on the island, there are fishing charters, lighthouse tours and sunset sails. More detailed info and links to this information are listed under our Attractions page.
